Project Cornerstone

Project Cornerstone are programs that create a positive and caring school environment that supports academic achievement. Schools that participate in Project Cornerstone  with a community-wide commitment show improved academic achievement, fewer behavior referrals and more students reporting a positive and caring school climate.

Upper-grade students participate in the Cornerstone program to learn about leadership and developmental assets.  They then share these values with the younger students at Payne through classroom announcements and school-wide activities.  All of these programs have helped to create our strong Payne Panther family!

Project Cornerstone programs complement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and align schoolwide efforts to improve the environment by changing student behavior. Our parent engagement programs, ABC and Los Dichos, have all been aligned with Common Core Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills.
