Enrichment Activities

The Payne community, parents, and staff members work together to provide many enrichment opportunities to the students.  Community programs include Young Rembrandts Drawing Class, Sound Formation, Mad Science, Academic Chess, Futsol Soccer, Public Speaking, Bricks 4 Kidz, 3D Pen Doodling and Silk Painting.  These fee-based programs are offered for 5 or 6 week sessions throughout the year to students who who want to participate in the classes after their school day has ended.

Staff members open their classrooms at lunch recess to lead noontime clubs.  How about having fun with Art Club, Lego Masterminds, Board Games, Pokemon, Origami, or Lights, Camera, Action!!  Students of all ages are given the opportunity to participate.

Higher level thinking and problem solving is important at Payne.  For this reason, we have included enrichment opportunities geared toward these skills.  Math Olympiad is open to fourth and fifth graders once a week during lunch recess.  Our Math Olympiads practice challenging math word problems and participate in national challenges which test their problem solving skills.  Many third, fourth, and fifth graders also participate in Destination ImagiNation.  This international program allows the students to work together to solve both long term and instant team challenges.
